Stop-Motion Animation Workshop
by Memory Vessels Studio
Thursday, July 16
4:00pm - 5:00pm
Learn the basics of animation and make your own stop-motion video. For grades 4-6. Free program. Registration required beginning June 22. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.
The program will begin with an introduction to stop-motion animation, an orientation on how to use the stop-motion app, and demonstrations of basic animation techniques. The second half of the workshop will allow participants to play and create an animation that is self-guided using the pre-made art kits supplied by the artist. The kits are not to be taken home from the program but to be shared by all participants in all libraries. The teaching artist would answer questions and give additional tips during the open exploration half of the program. Basic drawing and art-making supplies will be on hand to allow students to add a few unique elements to make their animation their own. Students can email or air-drop their silent movie creations before they leave. At the end of the program, students will have learned enough to continue exploring the tools at home.
The program cost is subsidized and made possible by a grant to Main Library Alliance through Morris
